Everyone needs a Bike Fit – road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes – whether racing or riding for fun.
Offered by: Professional SICI Certified Fit Technician – Eric Krause, has been racing bikes and working in the cycling industry for over 18 years. After learning to hone his own efficiency through years of focused trial & error, Eric formalized his education, studying under some industry-leading fit specialists, doctors and scientists so he could turn his attention to helping other cyclists be more comfortable and capable on their bikes.
INTRODUCTION:
Since the 1970’s, the cycling industry has attempted to look at ergonomics by “fitting” people on bikes according to blue-print positions adopted from the worlds top cyclists. However, most cyclists don’t share the same riding styles or goals as professional racers, nor do most have the luxury of pedaling for 5 hours a day followed by stringent stretching routines and massage sessions. For the last 15 years, individuals in the cycling industry along with medical doctors and other physiology experts have spent countless hours researching & developing a better approach to the biomechanics of cycling. This has resulted in newly designed bicycle frames and an individually tailored approach to bicycle fitting.
WHO CAN BENEFIT:
Everyone can benefit from a bike fitting. Most people arrive at a bike fitting because they’re experiencing some level of discomfort or they’re purchasing a new bike and want to make sure that it fits. But even if you aren’t un-comfortable, how do you know if you are getting the best power transfer or are in YOUR most biomechanically efficient position? BioWheels can help you with this. Ergonomic Fitting Services are an applied science that can prevent injury and insure that you are in the most optimum position for YOUR body. Don’t wait until you’re uncomfortable! An Ergonomic Fitting is a valuable service that WILL enhance your cycling performance & enjoyment.
What we do at BioWheels:
At BioWheels, we adopt an holistic approach as taught by the Serotta International Cycling Institute (SICI). People aren’t identical. Even people of the same height can have radically different proportions and ranges of motion, resulting in different bike set-ups. A person’s body composition, muscular & skeletal injuries, and flexibility determine how a rider’s body moves and achieves comfort & efficiency. We will set up your bike to fit your body!
Ergonomic Fitting Services
Complete Body & Bike Fitting – This service includes a thorough interview to better understand your goals, history and any areas of concern. We take body measurements and perform a biomechanical physical assessment to better understand your body’s limiters and flexibility. You receive full documentation of all your bike & body measurements at the end of the fitting. This information can be used to build a custom bike or to select & set up the proper size stock bike. A cleat/shoe fitting is also included.
$200 (discount with bike purchase)
General Bike Fitting – This service is for existing bikes or new stock (non-custom) bikes only. If you want to get your bike set up in the proper position for your body and riding style without the investment of a Complete Fitting, then this service is for you. It includes fit adjustments and bike set up without cleat fitting.
$100 (discount with bike purchase)
Cleat/Shoe Fitting – This service includes the proper placement and alignment of cleats on your shoes for optimum power transfer, efficiency and comfort. A shoe fit check and saddle position adjustments are also included.
